On the Road with the Walkers 🚗 February 28, 2026

We started out this morning in Enterprise, Alabama, and traveled down to Geneva, Alabama, for the Geneva County Republican Women’s meeting. It was a well-attended meeting with several candidates present. I was the only candidate for the United States Senate. We were all given the opportunity to speak, share our message, and participate in a question-and-answer session.

After the meeting, we visited several downtown businesses and had lunch.

After arriving back in Montgomery, we picked up the Walker bus and headed home. That part of the day became very eventful when one of the brake pads on the rear axle locked up and quickly started a fire. Thank goodness Stacie was behind me and called to let me know the bus was on fire. We were able to extinguish the fire, but we had to leave the bus for further service tomorrow.

The bus incident is a little funny, as Coach Tuberville also had a bus catch on fire when he was running for the Senate, and it burned up all his Moon Pies. As I rushed back with a fire extinguisher and water, I couldn’t help but think about the coincidence. Thankfully, everything will be all right. It appears to be a small repair to the brake cylinder, and she will be back on the road again soon.
